Cool Stuff: Space Ghost and other Hanna-Barbera Stuff!

Check out these Hanna-Barbera collectibles!

hb_spaceghost_frametray

First up, there's this awesome set of four Space ghost frame-tray puzzles... I have no idea who painted them, but good job, dude or dudette! I've also got to say, I love seeing that little Hanna-Barbera mini-model sheet at the bottom... when I was a kid, any time I'd buy a Gold Key comic based on an HB show, I always looked for that. I have no idea why they were so ubiquitous!

hb_spacekidettes_puzzle

Here's another puzzle based on a Hanna-Barbera property... the Space Kidettes! Now, either I never watched that show, or it was so horribly awful that my brain refused to retain any memories of watching it...

hb_speedbuggy_message

Here's another of those Rand McNally H-B kids books, this one featuring Speed Buggy! Funny how annoying Speed Buggy's speech and voice is as a 40-something adult...

hb_thundarrmodel

Yes, someone was selling Thundarr model sheets on eBay... although I haven't seen them offered for some time (probably because I deleted the Hanna-Barbera search from my saved searches)... the same seller had all kinds of model sheets for sale, and I always suspected they were a collector who decided to make photocopies of his collection to sell. I could well be wrong about that assumption, though.

hb_topcat_frametray

Here's a Top Cat frame-tray puzzle... man, a lot of Hanna-Barbera puzzles coming up this time, aren't there?

hb_topcat_wbook

I really wish the seller of this Top Cat Whitman book had figured out how to take a photo of it without the hot spot caused by the flash...

hb_touche_lgb

Kudos to the seller of this Touche Turtle Little Golden Book, for solving the "hot spot" problem, and allowing us to enjoy the cover artwork!

hb_tvfriendsbook

This Hanna-Barbera TV Friends book must've featured reprints of some of the stories in the short-lived Marvel Hanna-Barbera comics!

hb_valley_randbook

How long has it been since I mentioned that Valley of the Dinosaurs has been one of my favorite Hanna-Barbera series of all time? I wish Warners would come out with a DVD set of it already, because I did truly love watching it as a child.

We'll cut things a bit short this time around, but next time around, there'll be lots of Wacky Races and Yogi Bear items to feast your eyes on!

i was never that intrested in Space ghost.. the design just seam to shout "Make your own Space Ghost Figure by cutting the ears of your Batman figure and repaint!". It might be a good show but that just always put me off alot. Top Cat though.. sure it was based on the Phil Silvers show but i liked that and love Top Cat ^_^

Great Speed Buggy book--one can never have too much Hanna Barbera!

Manic Man - Of course, when John Byrne draws Batman's head, he's basically drawing Space Ghost's head plus the bat-ears... I have seen some very cool custom Space Ghost figures made by cutting the ears off of animated series Batman figures and repainting (plus adding a new cape, natch)!

Chris - Glad you enjoyed the Hanna-Barbera stuff! There will be more to come... just keep an eye on the Cool Stuff posts for when the names get close to "H" again! It would be very easy to go overboard with it, so I've started trying to be pickier about what I save for posting here!
