OK, this is kind of a weird request... but do any of you know of a website that offers mp3 or other sound format files of carton sound effects, particularly ones that were used in Hanna-Barbera's adventure programs?
The reason I'm asking is that as I'm working on some of the late 1960s Give-A-Show sets for the Give-A-Show blog (and of course, that will eventually appear here on Give-A-Show Fridays), I'm finding I'm having to substitute sounds that are kind of sort of like what I'm really looking for, but not really happy with them. I know there is a set of CDs out there with all the sounds and more, but it's about $400+, which I certainly can't justify spending!
My own web searches have turned up nothing, but that could be because I didn't put enough time into it... so if any of you have a bookmark handy, please pass it along in comments! Thanks in advance!

I have a copy of this CD which probably covers everything you're needing:

I also have this one (for Warner Brothers cartoons)

Hit me up if you think these can help you.
The Hanna-Barbera one you mention I already have -- and have used quite frequently already -- and doesn't have the adventure show stuff... like Space Ghost's ray, Mr. Fantastic's stretching, etc.
I'd love to check out the WB one... I'm just about up to the 1970s sets that have some Bugs Bunny slides!
damn.. I would say Sound ideas is good because they sell the box sets of Sound effects but it is something you need to buy. They do have a couple of Nice H-B collections (the Hanna-Barbera Sound FX Library is 4 CDs with 2,243 HB sound effects but it's about $500 for earlier 60s and 70s the H-B lost treasures collection is 1 CD with 351 tracks for $130.. problem is for this sound effects, anywhere you get them from which isn't you buying them isn't really on the level. There is a nice Warn Bros cartoon one.. but again, money is a little high (worth it if you are into this kind of thing though ^_^)
for other sound effects, i just use something like SoundDogs (i think http://www.SoundDogs.com) cause there 'preview' copys are good enought for me ^_^
Thanks for the info, Manic Man...
Actually, that Lost Treasures collection probably has all I want... anyone out there want to buy it for me? :)

Thanks for all your input on this... I'll just deal with what I've been able to find so far, and see what I can figure out to extract from YouTube videos where possible.
