Woolworths bought the trade mark, and it is used for a range of toys sold in their stores. These toys are firmly aged at pre-school children, and are imported from the far east.<BR/><BR/>The similar Thomas the Tank Engine toy projector being described earlier was produced by DEKKER TOYS (Hong Kong) and was not connected with Chad Valley, Kenner OR the Give a Show range in any way.<BR/><BR/>I have spent quite some time researching (and collecting) the UK version of the Give a Show (and Easy Show) range made by Chad Valley.<BR/><BR/>Much as you have done, I have been able to piece together pretty much the entire history (all the different sets, slide numbers, titles etc) and I'm sure my results would make an interesting comparision to your work.<BR/><BR/>Chad Valley appeared to break away from the Kenner slide catalogue around 1964, after which time they only produced their own titles. Today I saw something new on Google Search called a Kenner Talking Show Projector. It looked from a photo that it uses slides like the Give A Show Projectors, but has sound with them. The UK one the whole, has alot less money to throw around then the US and other such places. 'Cheap' or 'pound' shops have always been popular. By using Cardboard frames, you save a bit of money and pass that on to the buyer. Am not sure about how the US machine works, but the UK thomas one i have is just a couple of batterys which have a metal strip backing onto a lightbulb that shines to a bit of glass/plastic where the slide goes and it projects. The machine itself is basicly a box without the extra details of the US and early UK models. I will get around to photographing it.. I have not long ago tidied up and i remember having a few slides (and even the box am sure) someplace BEFORE i tidyed.. so now it could be in a box under a lot of other boxes.. Problem is, like i said, this slide isn't in good shape. I've been working on scanning the Give-A-Show Projector slides in order of release, and I think I'm still working on the 1962 ones!<BR/><BR/>As I've gone, I've figured out how to make adjustments to the color, etc... the trick seems to be to scan them at as high a resolution as you can (I scan the Give-A-Show stuff at 600 dpi), and then once they're scanned, I usually have to reduce the reds and neutrals, and sometimes adjust the black levels, too (it's easier to do that converting from RGB to CMYK). It also had a bigger lens, so it could throw a larger image. I still got it someplace but i think bits of it are broken. Came with a few Thomes the tank engine slides. Alot like the Viewers which used a Circle disk that you looked into.. anyway..
